Stacy D. Coil

Stacy D. Coil is a professional dancer, teacher, choreographer, judge, and owner of Next Level Dance Academy.  He has been in the dance world for over 30 years.

Stacy was a founding member of The Ohio State University Ballroom Dance Team, and has won many collegiate and inter-collegiate titles.  For many years, Stacy and his amateur partner were ranked 2nd in the nation, and have competed in the USABDA (USA Dance) & NDCA (National Dance Council of America) sanctioned competitions in high-level amateur divisions of Open Latin and Open Rhythm. He became a top amateur male by winning numerous divisions and was 2nd in the nation in American Rhythm. Stacy has also netted an international collegiate title.

Stacy’s success continued into his professional career where he holds several Professional American Smooth and Rising Star Professional American Rhythm titles.  He is also being a two time national Salsa champion.  

Stacy’s career has encompassed a wide range of projects that have included developing choreography for animated movies, short films, theatre, formations, and competitive couples.  As an instructor, many of Stacy’s students have enjoyed great success, routinely placing in the top three of the Pro-Am divisions, winning several Bronze and Silver scholarships.

Stacy currently teaches private and group lessons in Columbus, Ohio to beginner, intermediate and advanced level students. He loves all forms of American and International couples dancing, including several trend styles such as Salsa, Bachata, and Argentine Tango.  He is an entertaining, insightful instructor who has a passion for technique, styling, and on-going learning.  Stacy has been a long-time member of NDCA and ISTD, and over the years Stacy has been instructed by many legendary dancers including: Tony Meredith & Melanie LaPatin, Nicole Carroll, Dan Rutherford, France Mousseau, Jean-Marc Genereux, Sam Sadano and Kimberley Mitchell.

In addition to his ongoing dance education, Stacy also incorporates holistic modalities that support the dancer in healing and improving performances. These modalities include: Reiki, Qi Qong, NLP, emotional intelligence, and hypnosis.
